Homeland Security defines Human Trafficking as modern-day slavery that involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion to obtain some type of labor or commercial sex act. There is billions estimated in revenue from human trafficking, second only to drug trafficking as a transnational crime. (Homeland Security, n.d.)

We as a society, though appalled, have become too complicit with the stories we hear on the news about people being abducted. Most people are so concerned with their own lives that they don’t stop to think about the lives of those around them. Hearing cases of human trafficking breaks our hearts but what are we doing to stop it?

Human trafficking is generally done for sex exploitation, slave labor, or organ harvesting. Sex trafficking is the recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, or obtaining of a person for the purpose of a commercial sex acts by force, fraud, or coercion. Most victims are children under 18 years of age.

Labor trafficking is the recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, or obtaining of a person for labor or services, through the use of force, fraud, or coercion for the purpose of subjection to involuntary servitude, peonage, debt bondage, or slavery.

Organ trafficking (harvesting) is the recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, or obtaining of a person for use of harvesting organs for sale, transplant, or experimentation for another person. (Department of Health and Human Services, n.d.)

Human trafficking is a serious issue. While we personally may not be able to eradicate this issue entirely, we can stop a large portion if we are more vigilant and aware of those around us. Take personal and the security of loved ones more seriously. If you see someone who you suspect is a victim of human trafficking, call the police or the human trafficking hotline.

Don't be censored

Social media censorship is suppressing the truth about the dangers of globalism and brutal cultures infiltrating the west. Please share this article wherever you can. It is the only way we can work around their censorship and ensure people receive news about issues that Democrats and the mainstream media suppress.
