In what is described as one of the bloodiest rounds of fighting since 2014, the death toll continues to rise in the Gaza between Israel, Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addresses the attack on Israel. He orders his troops to step up action to protect Israel from this attack.

Things are not looking good in the Middle East, as tensions heat up between those who call for Jihad against Israel and the United States of America.

In a report from Fox News, President Trump has sent the USS Lincoln Strike Group and a bomber task force to the Middle East in order “to send a clear and unmistakable message to the Iranian regime,” National Security Adviser John Bolton announced Sunday night.

“Any attack on United States interests or on those of our allies will be met with unrelenting force,” Bolton said. “The United States is not seeking war with the Iranian regime, but we are fully prepared to respond to any attack, whether by proxy, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, or regular Iranian forces.”

Scheduled to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Finland on Monday, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told reporters the deployment is “something we’ve been working on for a little while” and “we will hold the Iranians accountable for attacks on American interests. If these actions take place, if they do by some third-party proxy, a militia group, Hezbollah, we will hold the Iranian leadership directly accountable for that.”

President Trump is facing a potential powder keg with the constant attacks against Israel with the Islamic states in the Middle East calling for its destruction.

Does Israel have the right to protect itself? Of course, they do. Will this trigger more violence from terrorist organizations? Unfortunately, it surely will.

There are those who believe Israel and the US should surrender the Middle East to the Islamic regimes who support terrorism. However, no one talks about the countries who have been conquered by Islamic radicals by war or invasion. Countries that were once free and enjoyed a modern lifestyle until Islamic terrorist groups forced the people to convert to Islam in the face of death.

Israel is fighting for its right to exist in a tiny, but hostile corner of the Middle East. The US has promised to support Israel as a partner for peace. With the violent attacks, one must ask the question, “Will peace even be possible?”
