Last night we all heard the breaking news that President Trump ordered an airstrike to take out Iranian Top Commander General Soleimani. This is a man who has organized attacks that led to the deaths of at least 600 American soldiers and wounded thousands more.
For years, the Iranian people have chanted Death to America. They have also been behind and funded some of the world’s worst terrorist organizations.
The Iranian regime has been a hostile enemy of the American people for decades.
The Iran Hostage Crisis
On November 4, 1979, fifty-two American diplomats and citizens were taken and held hostage for 444 days. A group of Iranian college students belonging to the Muslim Student Followers of the Imam’s Line, who supported the Iranian Revolution, took over the U.S. Embassy in Tehran and took the Americans captive.
In spite of a failed rescue mission, the Carter Administration was unable to get their release.
Those fifty-two Americans were held captive by the Iranian regime until January 20, 1981. Their release finally happened the day that Ronald Reagan was sworn in as President for his first term.
Could it be the Iranian leadership feared a Reagan Administration after the weak Carter Administration? It all depends on who is telling the story.
After the takeover of Iran by those loyal to the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, educated Iranian people were arrested and sentenced to death. One day, I had the privilege to meet a woman and her teenaged daughter who had fled the tyrannical regime.
I learned this woman and her husband were both professors at the University of Tehran. Those were dark times in Iran for professional and western educated people. With the radical regime wanting to purge any western thinking from the people, ANYONE deemed a threat to that goal faced death.
Tears filled her eyes as she told me how they had fled in the middle of the night with nothing but the clothes on their backs. She then told me how the Iranian hit-squads broke into homes, dragging out whole families; fathers, mothers, and children. Some were even murdered right there in the street, while others were taken to prison to face untold horrors.
So, as the Democrats howl and complain about how President Trump should have gotten permission from them for killing that evil, murdering terrorist we can rest assured that the world is a better place with him off to get his reward.
In this writer’s opinion, President Trump did the right thing. He has undoubtedly saved hundreds, if not thousands of American lives by taking out Soleimani. As far as the Democrats at being all worked up because they weren’t notified first, I have one thing to say, “Get over it!”
Why would President Trump trust them with such important information? Undoubtedly, the enemy would have been warned. We all know the Democrats can’t keep a secret. Heck, they leak like a sinking ship.
We live in dangerous times, my fellow Patriots. There are enemies both foreign and domestic that want to destroy this great nation. However, we are blessed to have a President that puts the American people first.
We need to pray for the safety of this country we all love, and pray for our great President.
