OPINION

Human Trafficking is a multibillion-dollar industry worldwide. Yes, you read it right. It is estimated that 150 BILLION dollars are made annually in the Human Traffic industry.

In 2020, the United States alone reported having approximately 199,000 human trafficking incidents. This is sex trafficking and forced labor numbers combined. You can research this topic easily yourself. I will start you off with several links at the end of this article. According to Michigan Human Trafficking Awareness Training, every thirty seconds, another person becomes a victim of Human Trafficking.

Worldwide, it is estimated 25,000,000 people are victims of trafficking. These numbers include forced labor and sex trafficking. Usually, alongside sex trafficking, racketeering and money laundering are included.

Please, don’t be disheartened when you look at these numbers. We are winning battles, and we will win the war.

Most recently, we won against the traffickers when several agencies joined together in a combined effort to free seven victims in Tupelo, Mississippi.

Various separate charges of child exploitation, drug possession, promoting prostitution, and domestic violence are being sought against the eight suspects.

In the last two years, victories have been won.

June 2021, eighty-two suspects were arrested in Kansas. Thirty-two victims were rescued, including a four-year-old child.

February 2021, in Hackensack, New Jersey, fifty-two women were saved, and twenty-two suspects were arrested for racketeering, human trafficking, sex trafficking, and money laundering.

August 2019, Operation Independence Day led to more than one hundred sex trafficking victims being rescued in a secret month-long combined operation. The victims were rescued from Atlanta, Seattle, and Las Vegas.

In Florida, Operation Stolen Innocence resulted in one hundred and seventy-eight arrests surrounding one teen victim.

Although we have won victories, the war is not over. Do not doubt, however; we will win.

Never, ever, ever, give up! Don’t give in, don’t back down, and never stop doing what you know is right“- President Donald J. Trump

These words of encouragement from our president give me the courage, and I hope they give you the courage always to do what you know is right.

We will not give up, we will not give in, and we will not run from the fight to free every man, woman, and child still suffering through human and sex trafficking.

President Trump fought to eliminate this evil from our earth. I, for one, will not rest until every trafficker is arrested for their crimes against humanity, and Human Trafficking is no more.

Arm yourself with knowledge and truth. Those who are still asleep will turn to you for answers once all the evil has been exposed. Stay strong. Never doubt that you are God’s warriors in this battle. Together we will cleanse the evil forces from this earth and always remember that God Wins.
