The National Institutes of Health was accused of involvement in a $1.2 million contract over the past decade to purchase beagles for cruel experiments, said PETA senior vice president of cruelty investigations Daphna Nachminovitch during the interview with Tucker Carlson.

Tucker Carlson reports that the most recent alleged testing on beagle pups violation is from Virginia-based supplier Envigo, which is accused of providing nearly 5,000 beagle dogs and puppies to NIH and other labs to be confined and tortured. In addition, during a  PETA investigation, more than 360 dogs were allegedly found dead.

Beagles are the dogs used most in experiments because they are one of the most gentle breeds of dogs.

Dr. Anthony Fauci and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases have been wrapped up in the scandal for initially funding experiments in Tunisia. According to PETA, beagle puppies were drugged before their heads were locked inside cages filled with hungry, infected sandflies.

I hope this investigation is continued until we have full disclosure on the horrible treatment of these precious dogs. What they have done to these beagles is a crime.

I understand the testing of new drugs needs testing before going to the public, but my concern is that Dr. Fauci and others like him have gone too far in this absurd testing. There was no need for such cruel testing on animals, and it needs to stop.

In today’s society, we are advanced enough that there have to be better ways of testing new drugs than the cruel, inhumane treatment of dogs, monkeys, and yes, even mice. We are better than that.
