The FEC(Federal Election Committee) regulators fined Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign $8,000 and the DNC $105,00 for not properly disclosing the money they spent on controversial opposition research that led to the infamous Trump-Russia dossier.
The fines come from a conservative group filing a request for an investigation.
Jay Sekulow reminds us that the truth has come out, which is important. Though they did not admit to committing a crime, they agreed to the fines, ultimately implying guilt. Â
Political candidates and groups must publicly disclose their spending to the FEC, and they must explain the purpose of any specific expenditure of more than $200.
The FEC concluded that the Clinton campaign and DNC masked the dossier as services and legal and compliance consulting instead of opposition research.
The allegations against President Trump were that he conspired with the Kremlin to win the 2016 election, Trump’s campaign had numerous contacts with Russian agents, and embraced Russian help. The dossier was presented by a retired British spy, Christopher Steele, who had a good reputation.
But five years later, the credibility of the dossier faded. A series of investigations and lawsuits have discredited many of its central allegations and exposed the unreliability of Steele’s sources.
Again, President Trump WINS AGAINST HIS ENEMIES.
